Doctor Who starts Sept.19 And Trailer #DoctorWho @BBCAmerica #TV

Excellent good news today for all Whovian kind. Our beloved Doctor Who will return September 19th to BBC America!

That's really all the news I have besides this lovely trailer.

BBC does have this little request however. "So as you may have noticed, the Series 9 Teaser trailer has been set free into the universe! But what’s it all about? Who was that guy? What was that thing? Why was she standing beside her?!? We need to know! But we also need to hear what you think. Tweet us your thoughts – the crazier and more creative the better! We’re at @bbcdoctorwho and would love to hear from you!"

So Enjoy!

And here's a little blurb from the press release.
Meeting monsters old and new the Doctor will come face to face with Missy (Michelle Gomez), a city of Daleks, deadly mercenaries called the Mire, terrifying ghosts and more.

Having filmed in Cardiff since January, Peter Capaldi said:

“Soaring through all of time and space, series nine sees the Doctor throw himself into life with a new hunger for adventure. The Cosmos is there for the taking, thrilling, epic and enticing, and his to play in. But he’s almost reckless in his abandon. It’s almost like he’s running from something, something that if it ever catches him will turn his life upside down.”

Previously announced and taking up a guest role in the new season will be young new talent Maisie Williams, having already achieved global success for her role as Arya Stark in the fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. Michelle Gomez (Missy) returns to plague the Doctor and Clara in the season opener, and UNIT are back with Jemma Redgrave and Ingrid Oliver (Osgood) returning to season nine following their popular entrance in season eight. Also confirmed as guest cast in the new series are Rebecca Front, Rufus Hound, Paul Kaye, Joivan Wade and Sophie Stone.

Season 2 Broadchurch Trailer @BBCAmerica #Broadchurch #tv

BBC America Broadchurch Cast

First off if you're watching Broadchurch on Fox AKA the American version of Broadchurch MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

I don't know why it never occurred to me that the second season of Broadchurch would be the court case. I guess because it seemed like an open and closed case. But the trailer for season two throws a major wrench in those works.

Can't wait for March 4th return of Broadchurch on BBC America

Broadchurch Returns February 4 @BBCAmerica #Broadchurch #TV

Broadchurch cast Season 2 BBC America

The English TV production of Broadchurch returns to BBC America February 4th. I'll admit that I haven't really been motivated to watch the American version on Fox. Having seen the British version I can't imagine improvement is possible. If you are watching the American version and don't know how the show ends you may want to stop reading here.

Beyond this point there be first season SPOILERS

It looks like the second season will have Olivia Colman as DS Ellie Miller. The trailer is a rehash of the first season with the tag line The End Is Where It Begins, but that she appears in the trailer I think is a good indication we will be following her to her new life.

Of course another good indication is her presence in the cast photo which also includes other members of the Broadchurch community. I had assumed that the second season would be taking place in another town. If your husband molested and killed a boy in your town, moving would seem like the obvious choice, but looking at this cast, I'm guessing Ellie has decided to tough it out. That oughta' lead to some tense exchanges...

Can't wait to see what they have in store for us!

Sneak Peek at Doctor Who Christmas Special @BBCAmerica #DoctorWho #TV

We've a little more than a month until Doctor Who returns for the Christmas special. Fortunately, my family does the majority of our Christmas celebrating Christmas eve. Come Christmas day eve we are all properly stuffed with food and candy and all our gifts are unwrapped. Which means, we've nothing left to do for the holidays, but gather around the warm glow of our TV and tune into BBC America for the traditional watching of the DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special.

Here's a little sneak peek with Nick Frost as Santa...Or is he?

New Trailer for Season 3 Orphan Black @BBCAmerica #CloneClub

Still no date on when the third season of Orphan Black will premiere on BBC America but here is a very little teaser that will premiere tomorrow during Doctor Who's season finale.

I have to say I love the way the TV season never ends now. Great shows coming back in all seasons, why didn't network TV ever think of this? Probably advertising dollars had to do with it.

Any who...Can't wait for the new season of Orphan Black and what looks to be Clone Club Junior!

Doctor Who Season 8 Picture Previews and Trailer @BBCAmerica #DoctorWho

Doctor Who and Clara
Just a few more day till the premiere of the new Doctor Who (Peter Capaldi) and Season 8 of Doctor Who on Saturday August 23!!! BBC America has released a few preview pictures of the first episode TAKE A DEEP BREATH, from which we are free to try and guess what is going on. First off the above picture looks like the Doctor and Clara are going to go out for a meal...

Doctor Who on the shore
Followed by a walk on a somewhat spooky beach. Based on Clara's clothes I'm going to guess this episode takes place, at least in some part, somewhere around 1900 and could this beach be Cardiff?

Clara at the TARDIS controls
Clara looks like she is having a go at flying the TARDIS. The new generation of the Doctor did ask her in his first few minutes if she knew how to fly it. Guess we're about to find out if she can wing it after watching for a couple years. It also looks like the TARDIS has been done over.

Tea Time with Strax
Happy to see good old Strax (the potato one) will be appearing. Hopefully, he'll see some action beyond pouring tea.

Madame Vastra on the job
And where there is Strax you almost always find Madame Vastra. Looks like she is knee deep in solving some mystery. We'll just have to wait till Saturday to find out what it is. I can tell you, there will be dinosaurs!

Here's the trailer

BBC America Premieres THE MUSKETEERS Sunday @BBCAMERICA #TheMusketeers

Swashbuckling is back in a big way. BBC America will premier their THE MUSKETEERS this Sunday. I got a sneak peek and I liked what I saw. It a fresh take on a story we know and love. I look forward to seeing the developement of the series.

Here's BBC America's description: The Musketeers, is set on the streets of seventeenth century Paris, where law and order is an idea more than a reality. In addition to being King Louis XIII’s personal bodyguards, Athos, Aramis and Porthos stand resolutely for social justice, honor, valor, love – and for the thrill of it. Luke Pasqualino (Skins, The Borgias) stars as D’Artagnan alongside Tom Burke (Great Expectations, The Hour) as Athos, Santiago Cabrera (Merlin, Heroes) as Aramis and Howard Charles (Royal Shakespeare Company) as Porthos. Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Hour, The Thick Of It), Maimie McCoy (Loving Miss Hatto), Tamla Kari (Cuckoo, The Inbetweeners Movie) and Hugo Speer (Bedlam) also star in the 10-part series created by Adrian Hodges (My Week With Marilyn, Primeval)

As a Doctor Who geek I admit I am somewhat intrigued by Peter Capaldi as Cardinal Richelieu. He's a true blue baddy in this, but in just a month or two we'll be seeing him as our well loved Doctor.

Back to THE MUSKETEERS. Here is a little trailer to give you a taste.

Doctor Who Season 7 on Netflix

Doctor Who season eight doesn't return to BBC America until August but you can get yourself caught up or just refresh your timey wimey memory on Netflix. Until the other day they only had up to season 6 of the more recent incarnation of the Doctor. But season seven has just been added.

If, like my daughter, you have already committed all of those "first" six seasons to memory you will be happy to learn they have added season seven. Which gives you more than a month to study last season's farewell to Matt Smith and the introduction of Peter Capaldi.

Until there is this!

BBC America Orphan Black Peek at Season 2

BBC America's Orphan Black is posting sneak peek clips of season 2 on Instagram this week!!! I got a chance to see the first few minutes of the first episode of season 2, at the TV critics press tour in January, and it was just as intense as this clip. Things are definitely not lightening up for our girl.

Orphan Black returns April 19th. If you missed the first season, I'd highly recommend catching up in time for this new season. I still think Tatiana was robbed at the golden globes.

Graham Norton Returns to BBC America

BBC America's Graham Norton returns for his 14th season on this Saturday.

The first episode has Harrison Ford and Benedict Cumberbatch talking or rather not talking about their participation in the new Star Wars film. If you like the old style chat shows where all the guests are on set for the entire show and witty repartee is wall to wall, you'll love The Graham Norton Show.

This is the only late night chat show I actually watch, unless you count The Daily Show, which I suppose should count. So Graham Norton is technically one of the two late night chat shows I watch. Which is still pretty good considering how many shows there are.

Who is The New Doctor Who

It was very exciting to watch BBC announced the new Doctor Who today (drum roll) and the winner is Peter Capaldi! You may recognize him from another great BBC show The Hour.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence but Capaldi played the W.H.O. (World Health Organization) Doctor in World War Z this summer. It's a pretty elaborate clue if it was done on purpose.

I'll be looking forward to Matt Smith's regeneration into Peter Capaldi on the Christmas special.

Doctor Who returns to BBC America in November

Broadchurch on BBCAmerica

BBC America premieres Broadchurch Wednesday August 7th. This show was a smash hit in England, receiving several BAFTA nominations and blowing up twitter every week.

Starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman as detectives investigating the murder of a boy. Broadchurch is a seaside vacation town, where everyone keeps saying nothing like "this" ever happens. The more the two detectives dig the more they find all sorts of unsavory things are happening in Broadchurch and right under their noses.

There are definitely shades of Twin Peaks and The Killing in this show. Unlike, those American shows you will find out who the killer is in the final episode. The series runs 8 episodes on Wednesday nights on BBC America.

Another season is expected to start shooting in the near future.

Jon Hamm on #TheNerdist on BBC America #Mad Men

This Saturday Jon Hamm from Mad Men will be the guest on The Nerdist on BBC America, along with Betsy Brandt from “Breaking Bad” and Rich Summers (Harry Crane from Mad Men).

I was (totally stoked) very happy to be at the taping of this show. So look for me in the audience. Jon Hamm was his usual ridiculous self. How this man ended up finding fame in a character as unfunny as Don Draper, I have no idea. The whole taping was hysterical, but pretty blue. So much so that I'm a bit curious how they are a. going to edit it for television , and b. cut it down short enough for the segment. Thank god that's not my problem.

If I have any criticism of this show it would be the set. I know last season's set was strictly public access TV, but I liked it. Now it is very smooth and professional. Oh well, it still has the rest of it's components so I won't start a letter writing campaign just yet.

Spies of Warsaw on BBC America Tonight

Spies of Warsaw is on BBC America tonight, starring David Tennant (Doctor Who 10). Based on the book by Alan Furst. Spies is set in Warsaw in 1937, in the years building up to WWII. Full of espionage and covert missions, and of course a love story to round things out.

If you miss Tennant as much as I do, you'll be watching this tonight. It looks like a fun action packed spy movie. At last winters TCA (TV Critics Press Panels) Tennant and the writers promised this would be a very sexy show. There was lots of talk about sex on trains and Tennan'ts characters string of lovers. So there is that.

On a side note: I got a chance to speak with David Tennant and asked him if he saw his Doctor Who returning, with his alternate world incarnation still in existence. He wouldn't rule it out. Saying that you never know and that with Billie Piper looking younger every day she could definitely do it.

Spies Of Warsaw will air tonight, April 3 and April 10th. Check your local listings for times.

I'll be watching tonight and of course tweeting along. #SpiesOfWarsaw

Orphan Black Premiering on BBC America

BBC America is debuting their new show Orphan Black March 30 at 9 pm (check listing). I've seen the first episode and it is riveting. Without giving too much away, I'll tell you it's a thriller that takes identity theft to a whole new level. The first episode was action packed with a huge amount of information imparted, so pay attention. I get the feeling this is going to be one you need to remember the tiniest of details.

The show is premiering right in the middle of BBC America's Super Natural Saturday. Which means it's lead in is Doctor Who and The Nerdist afterward both premiering their new seasons March 30, . Coincidentally  I'll be attending a taping of The Nerdist on the 30th of March. So I'll have more details on that show for you soon, though I'm already a big fan, and can highly recommend it!

Doctor Who Returns To BBC America

Doctor Who is returning to BBC America March 30th as part of their supernatural Saturdays. I  can't wait to find out how they are going to work out The Doctors new companion, Clara Oswin Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) . So far we've seen her in two different timelines and it looks like she'll be in present day in this new season. The mind reels at trying to figure out what kind of time line continuum will make this all seem possible... I'll be right there to find out March 30th.

This will be Doctor Who's 50th season, so I'm expecting some exciting guest stars.

Also premiering March 30th as part of Supernatural Saturday is Orphan Black, an interesting new show about clones and identity theft. More on that soon. We'll also see the return of The Nerdist March 30th. So all in all Saturday night TV viewing is handled.

The Graham Norton Show on BBC America

The Graham Norton Show is returning to BBC America Saturday, October 27, with Arnold Schwarzenegger.  The Graham Norton Show is my all time favorite talk show. He doesn't mess around with skits and long monologues. The entire show is just the guest interacting with him and one another, and most often fall off your seat hysterically.

This 12th season premiere episode also has Usher, and comedian Miranda Hart who plays Chummy on Call The Mid Wife (airing on PBS). I'm sure it's going to be another ridiculous season, that you shouldn't miss.

I love his orange loving set too!

The Hour Returns to BBC America

The Hour is returning to BBC America Wednesday, November 28th. The show is set in 1957 and continues to follow the lives of the news crew through espionage, emotional entanglements, and office politics. The cast has some exciting new additions, including Oona Chaplin..

If you missed the first season you can catch it on On Demand, if your cable provider has that, otherwise it is available on DVD and online. It really is a fascinating show! Pip pip cheerio and 2 yank thumbs up.

Doctor Who returns to BBC America

Doctor Who Season 7 is back on BBC America Saturday, September 1st! Woo Hoo!

I had heard rumors, but this morning I got an official press release for BBC America. There will be five new episodes, beginning with Asylum of the Daleks. All the incarnations of Daleks will apparently be present. Daleks are bad enough, and now there are crazy ones.

Enjoy this trailer till next saturday!
