Hail, Caesar! Opens Friday or Thursday If You're Lucky! #HailCaesar

Hail, Caesar! opens this Friday and like any good classic movie/Coen Brothers fiend I can barely contain myself. I do see, that here in LA, it is opening Thursday night in several theatres. So, if you are on pins and needles, like me, check here for your local theatres.

The trailers promises all the usual Coen Brother's odd hiliarity set in the films of the middle of the last century.

George Clooney plays a sort of Charlton Heston type actor.

I look forward to deciphering all the classic Hollywood Easter eggs. Just from the ads you can tell who some of the lead actors seem to be spoofing.

Channing Tatum plays a Gene Kelly type actor

Scarlett Johansson plays an Esther Williams type actor

Here's the trailer, just to get us through these last hours...

See you all at the theatre!

Coen Brother's HAIL CAESAR! Can't Come Soon Enough

The Coen Brother's are releasing a new film in the new year, HAIL CAESAR!, and I think someone better pinch me because it looks so good I might be dreaming. I know I have been AWOL for the last couple months, but this was just the thing to bring me back to sharing what I love in entertainment.

First off it has an all star cast, including George Clooney, Scarlette Johanson, Josh Brolin, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, Jonah Hill and the list goes on and on. Second, don't let Clooney's costume confuse you, it is set in the golden age of Hollywood (I think we all know I like that). Finally, if all that weren't enough, it's a COEN BROTHERS movie.

Here's the trailer:

It's projected to release February 5th, 2016.

Tomorrowland Trailer with George Clooney #Tomorrowland #film

George Clooney in Tomorrowland

I love a George Clooney movie. Looking forward to seeing this one with my daughter this May 22nd!

George plays a disillusioned scientist paired with a scientifically enthusiastic young girl (Britt Robertson). They find themselves on an adventure, in what looks like time travel, but don't quote me on that. Based on the trailer I'm pretty confident my little Whovian will love it.

If you really want to stay on top of all the news for Tomorrowland.  Disney and Google have partnered to create Take Me To Tomorrowland, a multi-sensorial teaser experience on both mobile and desktop. Please visit the site at TakeMeToTomorrowland.com or use Google Voice Search technology (“OK Google, Take me to Tomorrowland") for your first in-depth glimpse of Tomorrowland. The full site launches this spring, and will transport audiences into an unprecedented 360° Tomorrowland environment.

The Monuments Men Opens Friday

The Monument Men opens this Friday. My husband and I were invited to a screening earlier this week and loved it. The film is the true story of art historians who during WWII searched for the masterpieces of Europe that had been stolen by the Nazis. The cast is beyond impressive with George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bill Murray, and Cate Blanchett.

The film is very reminiscent of films of the WWII era. It is witty and action pact without insane special effects or overbearing soundtrack. My husband who usually loves those loud movies, loved this one too, and he can be difficult to please. I will warn you that if you are an art aficionado there are some SAW level disturbing scenes.

Much of the film happens in Belgium where I lived as a teenager in the 80s. I had no idea at the time that I had the men pictured above to thank for the works of art I saw there. They are truly responsible for saving the culture that fills Europe's museums and cathedrals, not to mention returning personal collections to their proper owners.

8 at The Ebell Theatre

8 will be performed at the Ebell Theatre March 3 to benefit The American Foundation for Equal Rights. The play is based on the court testimony from the trial to overturn California's Proposition 8, to legalized same sex marriage.

The play will be read by an all star cast including George Clooney, Martin Sheen, Jane Lynch and Jessie Tyler Ferguson among others.

This is a one night only benefit performance so the ticket are quite expensive. $500 and $1000. There are other packages that soar up to $250,000. If you have the means I highly recommend attending.

If you find this out of your reach but would like to contribute to the cause visit The American Foundation for Equal Rights website. They will gladly take any donations, I am sure.

Tomorrow night Writers bloc is hosting a free screening and Q & A with George Clooney at the TV Academy, 5220 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. That's right if you can get in, you will be in the same room with GEORGE.

I won't be able to attend, so I hope you all will give me a full report in the comments.

Give George my love!

Ides Of March

I gleefully went to see a screening of The Ides Of March starring George Clooney last night. It was great! As I prophesized it would be in my previous Ides of March post
If you were following my tweets, you know I noticed a lot of bird imagery in the film, and had no idea what it meant. Thanks to @TheRedan3553, I now know that birds were used as an omen that Julius Caesar would die on the Ides of March. Who knew right?
Well, if any of you Julius Caesar scholars out there see the film and can add any other interesting tidbits, Please leave them in the comments.
Thanks!

George Clooney in The American

George Clooney's new movie The American open Sept 1st. That's this Wednesday people. I love my George Clooney. This movie is about an assassin on his last job. It looks dark but I'm seeing it as soon as possible.

Here's the IMDB Plot Summary:
Alone among assassins, Jack is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde, is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto and pursues romance with local woman Clara. But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

Sounds good right? Here's the trailer, just in case you have doubts.

The Men Who Stare at Goats

The wonderful people at Overture Films were kind enough to let me into a press preview screening of the new George Clooney film, The Men Who Stare at Goats. The title is kind of a mouth full, but I guess Return of the Jedi was taken. That will make sense when you see how often they call themselves Jedi in the movie. It opens nationwide November 6th, and I highly recommend you go see it at your earliest convenience.
The Chemistry between George Clooney and Ewan McGregor is great, Brad Pitt better watch his back or he might go the way of Mark Wahlberg.
The story is far fetched but based on a true story and as the opening of the film says, more of this is true than you would believe(or something like that, it's dark in theatres and hard to take notes).
The cast is stellar there's George and Ewan, but there are also Jeff Bridges (AKA the Dude) and Kevin Spacey. Seriously, people you can't go wrong here. It's my personal favorite, bizarre and funny, bizarrely funny, or funnily bizarre, anyway you cut it, it's a good time.

P.S. this is my pervy Clooney stalker comment. There is some of the film set in the past and Clooney wears this long haired wig(not like his real 80's long hair, on Roseanne) and he looks super hot.I know, I know he's always hot. I just had to get that off my chest...

George Clooney Staring at Goats

Well, I was just going to leave you with this lovely picture of George Clooney as a kind of offering for not blogging for the last couple days but then Viejo showed me this preview of a new Clooney film called "The Men Who Stare at Goats" It looks truly bizarre, but hysterical. It's set to open November 6th, with an all star cast including Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, based on the trailer and the cast, that this is going to be incredible and you should probably go see it as soon as possible.

Too funny George referencing Jedi to Ewan/ Obi Wan.
