Inventing L.A.: The Chandlers and Their Times

Inventing L.A.: The Chandlers and Their Times is on PBS tonight. It's all about the generations of owners of the LA Times and their rise and fall. The part I liked best was about Dorothy Chandler, who basically created the theatre and music in Los Angeles, and what she didn't create she saved from the wrecking ball, including the Hollywood Bowl. I'd love to see an entire documentary just on her. After all the Dorothy Chandler pavilion is named for her.
Check it out tonight to see how the LA time influence the nation, and pissed off Nixon at 9.
